Tracing your roots presentation
On Tuesday 23rd of August 2016, County Sligo Heritage & Genealogy Society hosted “A Beginner’s guide to tracing your Family tree” as part of the nationwide celebrations for Heritage Week 2016.
The presentation mainly focused on providing advice for those starting out researching their family history and using online research sources. With the support and assistance of the Sligo County Council Ireland 1916 -2016 Centenary Programme, the event also featured a special segment offering advice on tracing your 1916 ancestors, which was very well received.
The afternoon proved to be very successful. We had a great response from individual and family groups who came to our event. We had visitors from Sligo and neighboring counties as well as visitors from USA and Britain.
